@[email protected] uhh, idk, im in a few local communities which have been around for like 4-5 years already and aren't going anywhere anytime soon. most of my friends (both online and irl) are from there. imo its more of a connection thing. as long as there is a deeper connection than "oh well we all like X thing", those people are more likely to stick around *even if* that community dies eventually. there's definitely the irl aspect, but i do have a few long-time (2+ years) acquaintances/friends (friend is a strong word for me, i dont use it much) that i haven't met ever or met once. we might not be in touch very often, but that doesn't make that connection any less valuable (picrel) :neocat_hug:
