i hate 1:1-s they make me so anxious every time aklsjdlkasdjsakl
webstorm not eating up my entire ram challenge (impossible)
(this is a followers-only post, please log in to see it)
@[email protected] @[email protected] ...and stops it from receiving any upstream features and improvements. meh
@[email protected] @[email protected] docker compose go brrrr https://github.com/teidesu/nixos/tree/master/hosts/koi/containers/sharkey
@[email protected] literally everyone uses `auth sufficient pam_tid.so`, whats the point anyway $[blur and on linux i'm yet to find any profit from using non-passwordless sudo]
@[email protected] funny how literally the first app on his Projects page uses round checkboxes
@[email protected] happens to me almost every day even the reminders dont really help because i just ignore them 😭
@[email protected] the worst part of adhd meds is not forgetting to take them 😭 $[blur we only have strattera in my country and it doesn't really help with that]
@[email protected] you can't even stream properly though. and file downloads are extremely slow. good luck downloading 100gb movies or games
@[email protected] while true, it's honestly pretty reasonable. not the freeleech stuff, the ratio requirements. i don't think there's really another way for the tracker to make sure it stays alive
@[email protected] aren't there freeleech uploads there? i used to farm quite a bit of ratio on them on jps
@[email protected] > that is loaded dynamically my brother(?) in christ, you just open the freaking devtools and replicate that request also there are jsdom/happy-dom which implement most of the browser apis, allowing you to headlessly execute some code *if you really need to* (though it does raise some security concerns) > much longer the performance difference is negligible. and htmls usually don't weigh megabytes. and also most of the time you don't even need to parse html. spa-s are everywhere, so you can just imitate the frontend app using the apis it is using. additionally there may also be a mobile app, which uses proper apis like 99% of the time. and those apis are usually even more stable then the web ones, since devs try to maintain backwards compatibility (because people don't really like updating the app)
how tf do people live with <100mbps home internet
@[email protected] - selenium sucks, headless scraping is much more efficient. selenium is usually only used to bypass some js antibot (e.g. cloudflare uam or captchas) - you don't. you scrape in a separate process and store everything locally, and serve the users from the local db
even all my projects at work are used by like 3.5 employees in god forsaken departments RE: https://borg.social/notes/9p150ukcy18p026f
why tf when I tried deleting a boost it deleted the original post on my instance
@[email protected] https://www.tablesgenerator.com/ ? been using it for markdown some time ago, and they also support html $[blur its also the first result in google for "html table generator"]
meowing as a coping mechanism
@[email protected] i hated every second of working with a 100k+ sloc codebase that was all basically `document.createElement` coming from a react background, all this imperative monstrosity is literally painful
"strong action" lmao https://www.cnbc.com/2024/01/26/apple-faces-strong-action-if-app-store-changes-fall-short-eus-breton-says.html
oh wow they dont send to russia apparently 🤡
they also seem to be wanting to switch from waitlist to a [more transparent queueing system](https://github.com/bluesky-social/social-app/pull/2613) where you can at least see your position. which is.. nice i guess? except it will likely also be [the only way to register](https://bsky.app/profile/rose.bsky.team/post/3kil3plp3ey2w) 🥴🥴🥴
the butterfly app started to ask for phone verification 🥴
CW: unpopular opinion
@[email protected] edge is actually pretty good. like, it manages memory more efficiently, has features like vertical tabs and split screen and also looks nicer and iirc it also has some devtools features (though i can't name them on the spot)
wtf .reisen tld is a thing
@[email protected] i sometimes flood such phishings with fake data for fun so "how many people clicked" is not really a valid metric here
with a quick glance over the `countryd` strings it seems that its also cellular towers and wifi. fucking bleh
apparently having an european apple id, billing address, sim, ios region and timezone is still not enough to consider me being in europe do they really check gps location? 🥴 i dont have a gps spoofer laying around (and that would also be highly impractical)
CW: "thoughts" on Apple's recent EU changes (iOS 17.4, alternate app stores)
@[email protected] > contactless/NFC payments > these are Dangerous permissions lets be real, apple just wants to keep getting its cut on apple pay 😁
i love it when apps just show you a generic error message instead of fucking explaining whats wrong, and you have to use devtools to debug it apparently you can no longer use domains with mail hosted by icloud for appleid which is weird considering i already have 3 of them on that very domain, including the appleid "owning" it 🥴
> To qualify for the entitlement, you must: > … > Provide Apple a stand-by letter of credit from an A-rated (or equivalent by S&P, Fitch, or Moody’s) financial Institution of €1,000,000 to establish adequate financial means in order to guarantee support for your developers and users. https://developer.apple.com/support/alternative-app-marketplace-in-the-eu/ what the fuck apple
i really want a herman-miller (like the one i have in office) because my markus makes my spine 🦐-ier every day and a nice table with decent depth and motorized height but that would cost me like.. 3-4k$? and thats like my entire savings account 😭 and to make matters worse im not even sure how much longer will i stay in my country for (or even in the apartment im in), so this really doesnt look like a nice investment
why are nice chairs and tables so. goddamn. expensive. jlksaljasjdlasjdlkasjdlkas
the longer i don't do anything (useful) besides work the less energy i have for that the grind is real
